Hershey Bar Cookies......heavenly!

~Hershey Bar Cookies~
When I started dating Brad, I quickly fell in love with him, his family.......and.....the Hershey Bar Cookies!
His mom quickly learned of my love for the delicious cookies, so she made them for me quite often.
By the way, Lisa....you are over-due to make some, right??? :)

I recently made the for the first time and found that, not only are they super yummy, they are very fun to make!
What other recipe can you say that you use 8 Hershey Bars on? (full bars)
Now I share this family treasure with you (thanks to Lisa for not caring to share!).
Recipe Card
Here is all it takes to make these yummy cookies.
Cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg yolks, vanilla and flour. It will be thick.
Spread over a cookie sheet. (ungreased) It helps to run the spatula over hot water before spreading. Cover the whole sheet. It will seem thin.
There is the finished "spreading" process.

Pop it in the oven for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, check it for a light, golden color. It may be an extra few minutes. You don't want to over-cook it.
While it is in the oven...start taking the wrappers off of the chocolate bars.
When the cookie-mix is perfectly golden, pull it out of the oven and immediately place the 8 chocolate bars on the cookie. Wait a few minutes.

When they are shiny and glossy, get ready for the fun part!

Take your spatula and start spreading evenly over the cookie.
yum!!!
Finished product.....almost!
Now...here is the important part...you may have a bit of chocolate on your fingers. LICK IT!!!! (then wash your hands)
Let them sit for about 10 minutes. You don't want them to totally cool. After they have SLIGHTLY set up, use a pizza cutter to cut the cookies your desired size. *You are just scoring them.
......Like so.
So heavenly. Now...let them set up a bit. (not totally set up though)
Use a spatula to get the bars off of the pan and on wax paper. They will be pretty gooey.
I put mine in the fridge for a little bit (not long) to get them set up. We were in a hurry to get to a party. I never time things out like I should, BUT.....they turned out great!
They taste BEST when placed on a piggy platter!!! :)
SO...there ya go! I am tell you....TRY THESE! They seem so simple, which they are, but so yummy. Let me know if you make them. They are a good dessert to make if you are in a hurry or want something simple.
Best part of these cookies-----CALORIE FREE!!!!
